THRIVE

A self-paced online course to invite
financial well-being and emotional peace.

We give money a lot of power

…so when our relationship with it is fractured, it tends to cast a shadow over other aspects of our lives: the physical, emotional, spiritual, and expressive parts of ourselves.

Despite the lack of education around money in our schools, we have access to more information than ever. Hundreds of approaches claim to solve every financial issue you can think of: from getting out of debt, to maximizing investments, and more.

And while each of these methods have value, most of them fail to acknowledge a deeper layer to the issue. It is rarely as simple as “spend less, save more.”

We must acknowledge the emotional and energetic patterns that show up around money.

Never having enough. Feeling powerless. Resenting money. Obsessing about it. Hoarding it. Losing it.

These patterns can stem from our own lived experience or our inherited belief system from parents, from our ancestral lines or our cultures of origin – but wherever they are rooted, these familiar patterns will repeat themselves until they are confronted and understood.

Only then can you shift and support them, allowing them to be transformed and allowing you to THRIVE.

You are not destined to a life of financial anxiety.

In my work with hundreds of clients, I have seen true change come from weaving together our internal experience and external reality. In other words, we must invite synergy between the practical and emotional elements of money.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are not hopeless. If the subject of money has always brought up waves of shame, powerlessness, or overwhelm for you, you are not alone. And perhaps more importantly, you can build a new financial foundation – one that is both peaceful and productive.

You can THRIVE financially.

Transforming your relationship with money is possible. There is a reality accessible to you in which you save with ease, spend without guilt, and earn with grace.

That is why I created THRIVE – a self-paced course to renew your financial wellness.

Portrait of Megan deBoer, creator and Instructor of the THRIVE financial well-being course.

This course is an anchor and a pathway.

My mission is to help you clear the debris of your restrictive patterns around money so that you can THRIVE and feel wealthy in all aspects of your life. To shed the negative personal and cultural layers between you and this fluid, thriving energy, we must learn a new way through renewed language.

This course examines money through metaphors rooted in nature – a perspective that is more accessible, neutral, and inviting than the lenses through which financial information is typically delivered.

Language that feels dry, boring, abstract, foreign, or linear is a huge contributor to why money feels inaccessible for so many, especially femme-identified individuals. Through the shared and archetypal language of nature, this course provides a path forward with finances. I invite you to walk this path with me.

How is this course designed?

THRIVE is designed to be a soothing refuge for those who have tried to enter the financial realm, only to feel ashamed, intimidated, overwhelmed, anxious and powerless.

THRIVE leads you through a gentle yet deep inquiry into the many layers that influence your individual relationship to money. It grounds you in the very realm of your financial situation with both sweetness and courage.

THRIVE offers tools, guidance, and manageable next steps toward your financial goals.

THRIVE matches the pace and momentum you set to adjust to your life rather than impose a timeline. You may spend 5 months or 2 years actively engaged in this coursework – whichever is right for you.

I want you to THRIVE financially.

Because when you thrive, we all thrive. It’s that simple – and that profound.

A past participant says -

“The THRIVE course was phenomenal. I am in my early 40s with a doctorate degree, but somehow had never learned the essentials of responsible money management. I was making good money, but felt like I couldn't control it and was constantly stressed. It didn't matter how much money I made, I just could not get ahead and I simply did not know what to do.

Then COVID hit, and I lost 50% of my income. I signed up for THRIVE and it was the best thing I could have done. As a result of this class I was able to create and (mostly) stick to a spending plan that matches my values, track my spending, make a meaningful dent in my debt, and save money, for the first time in my life.

Yes, even with half the income, I was able to add a buffer to my checking account and put money away in savings (it's true!!). I also feel that I have control of my financial life for the first time ever and it feels AMAZING!!"

“I THOUGHT I had a handle on my mindset, systems and even my healing work around money before taking this course -- but now I know there was so much more to learn (and still is). I'm so glad I joined Thrive, it was invaluable to me and I would recommend the course to anyone who wants to grow their financial consciousness in a gentle, supportive yet powerful way. I was a little hesitant to take on a self-paced course, but Megan's teachings come through clearly in the videos, worksheets and live calls - she is a gifted teacher, offering not only knowledge but also compassion.”

Investment + Pricing

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

Does it make sense to spend money on this course if money doesn’t feel abundant? It’s a critical question to ask, and I’ll be really direct in saying – it may not.

However, it might also be an investment that generates a powerful financial and emotional return. A few small shifts in reduced spending, increased savings, and ending the debt cycle can not only repay the investment very quickly but also continue to compound over time.

How much does THRIVE cost?

This course requires an investment of $500 and I have three payment options to choose from.

I award 2 reduced-fee tuition spots per month to anyone who is in need of a reduced-fee tuition. This offer is open to all, yet I will prioritize Black, Indigenous, and other Women of Color who have historically been excluded from building wealth, regardless of whether you are currently experiencing a need. This is one of several reparative actions my business takes to close the gender and racial wealth gap.

THRIVE

How do you know if this is a wise investment?
Ask yourself…

  • What must you gain from this course to make it worthy of this investment? Write this down. Share it with me so I can help you assess. I have turned many people away from this course in the past if it was clear that it’s not the right course or the right timing for them. I can hear the truth of your readiness—and I will always be honest with you.

  • Would making the investment in this course cause you real financial strain? If this course would hinder your ability to pay your bills, this is not the time for this investment. Please explore these lower cost resources first.

My zero-risk guarantee –

I cannot guarantee the results that you’ll experience. You must take responsibility for asking these questions and deciding whether this is a wise decision for you.

That said, if you begin this course and after the first 10 days it is clearly not for you, simply let me know and I will refund your investment and revoke your access to the course.

I only ask that you are thoughtful about your decision to enroll. I want you to move forward confidently in this work. Starting and stopping can erode both momentum and confidence, and I truly don’t want that for you.

This course will be a great fit if…

  • You want a gentle and soothing approach to this money conversation.

  • You are ready to recreate your relationship with money by feeling emotionally at peace with it and allowing it to be a partnership rather than an estranged, exhausted, or shame-filled relationship.

  • You do well with self-guided and self-paced learning, and you reach out for support when you get stuck.

  • You take action when you know what actions to take.

  • You are ready for and committed to tangible change: paying off debt (for good!), increasing your retirement savings, going on a much-needed vacation, and generally feeling confident about the ways you interact with all your financial decisions—now and over the course of your life.

  • You believe in slower, deeper, and more integrated change—and you acknowledge that change is a process.

This course will not be a great fit if…

  • You are in a financial crisis. If you cannot afford rent or are behind on any of your bills, this is not the time to enroll. Explore these lower fee resources first.

  • You are looking for a quick fix with all the tactics! tips! and tricks!

  • You are primarily seeking investment advice.

  • You aren't fond of inner work or feel like emotional exploration is a waste of time.

  • You are completely consumed by other obligations and unable to dedicate the time investment required by this course.

  • You already have self-paced courses on money that you haven’t watched yet —please don’t feel ashamed of this, but also know that purchasing THRIVE will not be the answer. Doing this work alone may simply be too difficult—and the most loving this you can do for yourself is seek someone who can work with you directly.

This THRIVE course has profoundly changed my life. Not exaggerating. The exercises are approachable, engaging, organized, encouraging and very doable. Yet mostly, and surprisingly, I've found the course to be an invitation to heal.

I've been self-employed for decades and have not been able to shift some painful patterns that have held me back and kept my business anemic - financially, mentally and emotionally. It is taking me many, many months to shift a lifetime of my relationship with money, yet I never feel behind, like I'm missing out or less than in this space - such a rarity these days.

I think that's what keeps me going in this course. I'm met exactly where I'm at, with unconditional positive regard, and that allows me to see how far I've come, to create a financial vision that actually feels in my bones to be achievable, and to genuinely look forward to doing the next steps ahead.

I appreciate Megan's gentle and keen tenacity in holding the space. She offers a bright light and allows plenty of room to grow into the new reality. She keeps track [on the LIVE calls] in a sharp yet kind way, offers accountability with huge respect, is always ready to celebrate every tiny or large win, and has a buoyant sense of humor on deck to lighten things up.”

  • The course materials do not expire and you’ll maintain access online for as long as you need them. If this ever changes, I’ll give you ample notice so that you can download all of the materials for your continued use.

  • The beauty of this course is that it is self-guided and self-paced, which means you get to determine how much time you allocate to it at the rhythm that you choose.

However, I do encourage you to keep a healthy pace throughout the course in order to maintain momentum. That way, you can be sure to complete the coursework and reach your determined financial goals.

  • I want this course to be accessible to those who are eager to participate and complete it, yet have limited funds to invest.

If you fall into this category, please apply for a reduced-fee tuition. Priority is given to Black, Indigenous, and other Women of Color as well as single mothers—but feel free to apply even if you don’t fit that criteria. I grant five reduced-fee tuitions each month to ensure this work remains accessible.

  • As amazing as online learning is, I recognize that it lacks the interpersonal accountability that can help ensure you reach your intended outcome. Ultimately, your success in THRIVE is based on your deep desire, willingness, and commitment to reaching your goals.

That said, I’ve created the course structure with intention to help you complete it. Here are some of the ways that I’ve made THRIVE’s content manageable:

Lessons are short, meaning you can fit them into your busy schedule. If you have time for social media, you have time for this course.

Assignments and exercises are comprehensive yet manageable. I want you to build a positive momentum loop of action and completion in which you find yourself eager to complete each exercise and move on to the next.

LIVE calls for direct support are available upon enrollment. I encourage you to engage with this aspect of the course as person-to-person communication can help bolster motivation and accountability.

Self-paced learning combined with access to one-to-one support makes your chances of completing the course high.

  • I’ll be entirely honest: this work will be the beginning of your journey, not the end. While I’m not a fan of large magical promises (and this course is not a magic money spell), I believe you will experience sizable shifts in both the emotional and dollars-and-cents realms of your financial life.

I believe in deep, lasting, and integrated change that continues to evolve over a lifetime. This course will not solve all of your problems, but it will be as transformative and powerful as you allow it to be. I ask that you take responsibility for your own growth and outcome, and I promise to support you along the way.

  • The short answer is—absolutely! You only need one enrollment per household.

The slightly longer and more nuanced answer is that THRIVE has not been specifically designed for couples, so you may want to seek out something that meets your needs more directly. Please visit my resource page to view a few book recommendations geared toward couples.

Even though the focus of THRIVE is not on resolving conflicts or coming to financial agreements between two people, if you do decide to take the course together, you’ll have plenty of things to discuss and work through together.

“I just wanted to let you know how much your course is changing my life. I feel so much calmer and more empowered when it comes to managing my money. I think the breakthrough lesson for me was creating a spending plan. This was the first time I really saw that I can strategize and make choices when it comes to spending so that I'm both able to protect my needs (and some wants) while avoiding the chronic overspending (we're talking overspending by a grand or more each month – totally not sustainable) that was leaving me feeling helpless and afraid. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

About Megan

Over the past decade, as a Financial Recovery Counselor, I have sat in thousands of intimate conversations with hundreds of clients as they untangle their complex relationship with money and learn the practical skill of taking care of it differently.

I am passionate about creating a space for heart-centered people to develop confidence managing their money and building wealth—spaces that are both nurturing and challenging. These spaces hold reverence for the complex and deep layers we encounter when journeying through this work. These spaces that are trauma-informed, shame free, and aware of how our current financial circumstance is also a result of systemic economic realities.

I want more money flowing through loving hands—and this work is the sweet way I get to contribute to that dream.

“I'm still in the early stages of the course, but what I can say is that I have appreciated your pace of delivery SO MUCH and that you cover ALL of the aspects of looking at money. I appreciate hearing your personal story and completely trust that there will be a soft, non-judgmental holding of my story. Thank you.”

Tracy D.

“When I decided this year was the year I ‘got right with money,’ I knew I needed to start from the ground up. Too often, I've tried budgeting systems or looked for quick fixes that I've quickly discarded when they didn't immediately feel successful.

This course has shifted my whole approach to my finances – from my mindset to my understanding of the cultural/historical context of women and money – and given me practical everyday tools like budgeting.

Feeling like I have an ally on this journey has given me much more courage to dream bigger than I ever have.”
